On October 8, 1956, China's first rocket and missile research institution was established, and China's aerospace industry began.
The poetic Chinese named the manned spaceship Shenzhou. On November 20, 1999, China's first unmanned test spacecraft "Shenzhou-1" was successfully launched. On October 15, 2003, China's first manned spaceship "Shenzhou V" was successfully launched, and astronaut Yang Liwei completed China's first manned spaceflight. From this day on, there is China's five-star red flag in the vast universe. It marked China as the third country to send people into space after the Soviet Union and the United States.
Since the beginning of the 21st century, China's space industry has entered the "fast lane" of innovation and development. The construction of space infrastructure has been steadily advancing. The Beidou global satellite navigation system has been completed and opened. The "three steps" came to a successful conclusion, the construction of China's space station was fully launched, and "Tianwen-1" realized the leap from the earth-moon system to interplanetary exploration, and achieved brilliant achievements that attracted worldwide attention.
On September 15, 2016, China's first real space laboratory "Tiangong-2" was successfully launched. On October 17 of the same year, "Shenzhou 11" was successfully launched, carrying astronauts to complete automatic rendezvous and docking with "Tiangong 2". The total flight time was as long as 33 days, which was the longest manned mission in China.

On April 29, 2021, the launch mission of the core module of the space station Tianhe was a complete success, marking the full launch of the orbital assembly and construction of the Chinese space station, and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent verification of key technologies and the smooth implementation of the assembly and construction of the space station.
On July 24, 2022, the launch mission of the Wentian experimental module of the space station was a complete success. The Wentian Experimental Module is the second module of the Chinese space station and the first scientific experiment module. It is mainly used to support astronauts' stay, out-of-cabin activities and space science experiments. It has achieved brilliant achievements that have attracted worldwide attention.
So far, China has successfully launched more than 200 satellites, more than 11 spacecraft and 2 space laboratories. From unmanned flight to manned flight, from one person to multiple days, from in-cabin experiment to spacewalk, from single-ship flight to stable operation of the combination. Today, China is entering the space station era, with its tentacles reaching farther into the interstellar space.
These successes are inseparable from the hard work of Chinese aerospace workers, the spirit of climbing the peak and the efforts of independent innovation. Taking independent innovation as the core driving force, China Aerospace Aviation has continuously broken through technical difficulties and achieved a magnificent turn from following to leading. At the same time, Chinese aerospace workers have actively participated in international exchanges and competitions with an open and cooperative attitude, and have made important contributions to human exploration of the universe and common development.
In the future, China Aerospace Aviation will continue to adhere to the development concept of independent innovation and open cooperation, strive to promote the progress and application of aerospace technology, and make greater contributions to the progress of human civilization.
